We are home now! I’m so happy! Everything looks so big! I just can’t believe I’m finally home! I can’t wait to see all of my friends! As soon as I got into the truck this morning, I felt a tight feeling in my stomach. I usually get that when I’m excited. We had the Bartram parents over today. It was good to see them again. You are reading the Arizona Bestseller Grand Canyon report! The Grand canyon scientists have dug up some new pieces of information and it is our job to keep you updated on everything they find out, so now you are reading the Arizona bestseller!
The Grand Canyon was formed by the Colorado river, if you’ve heard of the Colarado river you might also have heard that it is one of the fastest rivers in the world because it drops up to 10 ft per mile.
To make the Grand Canyon, the Colarado river cut through some rock and, as it did that, the sides fell in and got washed away by the Colarado making the Canyon bigger every year. As of right now the Grand Canyon is 10 miles wide at the rim and around 3000 ft deep. William never thought we could see past 10 miles! We stopped at some view pionts along a 30 mile stretch, and we probably hadn’t even seen half of it!
The North rim erodes more than the south rim because it is angled towards the Canyon and it has a higher annual rainfall.
There were lots of animals including, Mice, Lizards, Mountain Goats, Mountain Lions, Elk and Birds. I didn’t think I’d ever see a mountain goat, let alone 4! William didn’t think there would be mountain animals and Lizards in the area. We didn’t see any Mountain Lions. We only saw a sign that they were in the area.
And last but not least we shall describe what the Grand Canyon looks like.It is a hole with mountains, hills, cliffs, caves, and the Colarado river at the bottom. I can’t think of any other way to describe it, but it really was cool. by roving reporters, Jamie-Lynn & William

The rides were awesome! Some of them were slow, some of them were fast, some were slow and fast. But they were all really good. My favourite one was called Astro Orbiter. The Astro Orbiter is when you get into a cart that gets lifted into the air and you can control whether you go up or down. My mom liked Splash Mountain the best because it was so hot out.
The shows were also really good. All of them were funny especially the Philharmagic one. (That was my favourite) In every single one of them Donald duck was the funny one. (though I don’t know when he isn’t funny) The Philhar show was about Donald duck putting on Mickeys magic hat and it being blown away from him when he gets sucked into a black hole and then he trys to get it back. Its really quite funny. The other show -which is about dreams coming true- isn’t funny itself but When Minnie kisses Donald duck because he did a “valiant” deed he faints.
That was Magic Kingdom: my most favourite part of DisneyWorld!
New York city was awesome! we had to get there by train which took about an hour. On the way we had some pretty cool scenery. We were riding beside the Hudson river. It’s wierd that it was called the Hudson river because Hudson bay is up in Canada. Anyways, While we were riding I saw a realllllllly old castle that was partly under water and partly on an island. That was really cool, but after that it was all trees and water. When we got to New York I was amazed at how much taxis there were and how little other cars there were and how big the buildings were and how many people were walking, so on and so forth. In other words IT WAS AMAZINGLY HUGE. The first store we went to was a shoe store called Sketchers where we bought William, me, Sarah and Sam new shoes. It took us an hour and a half to buy four pairs of shoes. After getting the best pair of quality shoes I’d ever had we went to about the biggest and best store i’d ever seen! It was called M+M World. It was really cool. There was a fan with M+M’s in it, a cap and some mugs and the M+M Statue of Liberty and lots of other souvenirs. I wanted to buy pretty much everything. After leaving the wonderful M+M World we got to see the Empire state building which was orignally made as an airport station for blimps. But now it is only a tourist attraction. We saw the Empire state building from another really tall building, made for the purpose of seeing New York city from up high, called the Rockefeller center. The Rockfeller center was pretty cool seeing as you could see pretty much all of New York city from there. When we left the amazing view of the city we got coupons that made us able to buy a coffee and get a cupcake for free! So we did that(except with hot chocolate for the kids) and didn’t regret it at all. The flavour of the cupcakes was called Red Velvet. After the delicous food we headed to a toy store. The toy store was HUGE! It had big guys, that were mostly Star Wars, made out of Lego, a big piano that was on the ground and you had to play with your feet, big stuffies that were animals from Africa ( Lions, Leopards, ect.) and… and… and… lots of other stuff! There was also this guy that was “advertising” a game called Myachi and another game that was sort of like Tennis but didn’t have a birdie or the kind of racket that Tennis has. The racket is basically a circle without a handle and a cloth net instead of a wire net. And instead of a birdie you have a ball covered in rubber strings. The Myachi game is a beanbag that you have to toss from one body part to the other, but the only rule, NO PALMS! Doesn’t sound so easy now does it? And if it does, I guess I don’t know how to describe stuff. It is probably the hardest game I have ever played! I had fun with it but it was getting dark out and we needed to move on. So we started hurrying up a bit so we could finish with the store before they closed. It ended up we finished before they even started shooing customers out so they could close up for the night. (Pretty good huh?) When we got out we headed for Central park so we could eat dinner. When we got to Central park we found a place to sit and had the most pathetic dinner I’ve ever had. All it was was snacks and Powerade. It filled me up enough to last me till morning but it was pathetic. Anyways, when we were done we left the park and headed for the subway station and that was the end of our day, but not our adventure in New York.
We went to one of the places where my mom used to live, it’s called Montreal. Montreal is one of the biggest cities in Canada. We went to what they call a mountain, but what isn’t even a foothill. Anyways, we went up and saw what I thought was a ballroom. It was sort of boring, let me explain what it looked like on the inside. On the ceiling there were half arches that had stone squirrels perched on them eating nuts. The floor was made of tiles that were blue and white. The walls had paintings of the french when they first came to Canada. When you go outside onto terrace, the veiw is breathtaking. You can see practically the whole city! Montreal is an island in a large river. My mom thought it was time to go, so we headed back down the “mountain” to the truck. On the way, we saw some squirrels. What happened next I’ll never understand, my mom bent down held out her hand and one of the squirrels came up shyly and sniffed it. Then more came up and sniffed her hand. Sarah went ahead to the truck and grabbed some granola bars so we could feed them. While she was gone we all sat down in the shade and let them come to us. Soon, Sarah came back with the granola bars and gave us peices, we held out our hands for the squirrels, and they ate right out of our hands. They were so cute I wanted to pet them! When it was time to go I couldn’t help but linger a little longer than everyone else and spend more time with the squirrels. When I left for the truck there wasn’t very many left because Sam and William came back and chased them away. After the squirrel experience we drove into town to try and find a parking spot for the museum that we wanted to see. We couldn’t find any because the street was packed with cars and our trailer was too big. That was our first day in Quebec.

Wee Willy & Klondike Kitty
“It was the best!” I thought as I looked back on the Oh Canada Eh! show. The show had lots of funny songs, funny acts, funny everything! There was William’s favourite scene of a hyper guy that tells dumb jokes, and can jump really high. My favourite is of Klondike Kitty, a woman that likes men. Sarah says she dosn’t have a have a favourite, she loves the whole show, and Sams favourite is the funny hockey guy that has 2 missing teeth and is named Wee Willy.
But it wasn’t just a show, it was a DINNER show. The dinner, a 4 course meal, was DELICOUS. Everyone was happy. I think the main course was the best. Especially the fish. It wasn’t Salmon as you might think, it was Haddock. Anyways it was delicous.
If you ever go to Niagara falls and want to go out for dinner at 6:00 PM at a dinner show I suggest OH CANADA EH! DINNER SHOW!
“Could’ve been worse,” we all said as we looked at the mess behind the trailer. What we looked at was our twisted and mangled bikes.
You see, what happened was the bumper (which wasn’t strong enough for the weight of the bikes) ripped, so the bike hitch fell towards the road and hit it, over and over and over again. But on the first bump William’s bike popped off the bike hitch and lay there on the road while we drove about three KM. before we realized that there was a strange sound coming from behind us.
Some people honked at us and told us that we lost our bike.
My mom and dad got out to see what they meant, and what the sound was in fact, everyone got out to see what they meant and what the sound was.
And so here we are looking at Mama’s twisted bike tire and Sam’s popped front tire and just beginning to see that William’s bike is missing. So we all pack into the truck and go back all the while looking for William’s bike. After a few suspenseful minutes we spot William’s bike in a waterless ditch! We keep on driving until we find what we think is a driveway. So we drive into it before we realize it is a scenery road. So we back up into another road and turn back the way we came to pick up William’s bike. Only my bike, Sarah’s bike, and Papa’s bike were unharmed by the accident.
Mama and papa say the bikes and the bike hitch will get fixed in Ontario after the reunion.
THE END
